Honor elders

​

The elder,

To my dear friend Gaius,

whom I love in the truth.

3 John 1

Apostle John's self identity in

his letter is elder.

Namely I am older then you are.

Apostle John was a beloved and

youngest disciple of Jesus who

later was called an apostle of love.

At the age of 100 years, he must

have learned and attained

God's attributes of love which

only can be grown through age.

Recently a co-founder of

Prayer University published a book

regarding the contemporary issues

and what the Bible tells about.

Politics, economics, family,

same sex marriage, abortion,

education and the likes are quite

different now from what

the Bible tells; and the book states

consequently the society as

a whole suffer tremendously.

Our society tends to admire youth,

energy, sports, external beauty,

pleasure, indulgency etc, and to

contempt the core factors that

drives life from such as love,

wisdom, service, perseverance,

humility; the character of men

seems to be regarded as weak

and bored. And we pay the price.

Honoring the aged is God’s

creation order.

Although the character of

the elderly may be different

according to how they lived,

the Bible tells honor the elderly

provide their needs.

All men is made after God's own

image as Jesus loves children so

much so does the elders.

Noah, Abraham, Moses and many

faithful ancients completed their

ministry God called for at

their late age.

Jesus’ rather exclusive burial was

done by Joseph and Nicodemus

the aged, respected and waiting

for God's kingdom.

Young Jesus disciples were unable

to do it.

As the Bible teaches us to respect

and serve the elderly, Jesus did it.

May is called queen of season,

month of love.

In May are children’s day whom Jesus loved

especially, parents day, couple’s day, family day,

missing children’s day and labor day in Korea.

All these are for people.

The love of God who admires people so much

that he blesses all of them with natural blessings

and he so desires them to love each other,

be happy and prosperous.

God’s love is like blowing the silky May wind.

Love gives us joy, strength and awakens all

my dream and potential. God loves me so.
