Entering Jerusalm
They brought it to Jesus,
threw their cloaks on the colt
and put Jesus on it.
As he went along, people spread
their cloaks on the road.
"Blessed is the king who comes
in the name of the Lord!"
"Peace in heaven and glory
in the highest!" Luke 19:35,36,38
Jesus entering to Jerusalm is
almost amusing procession;
a young man riding on a colt
and children shouting holding
palm tree blanches and people
spread their cloaks on the road.
It certainly does not look like
king’s or warlord’s triumph procession.
Jerusalm the city was overcrowded
with animals to sacrifice and people
who came from everywhere
for passover feast.
Here was the scene Jesus entering
to Jerusalm where he will be finally
sentenced to death.
Yet they shouted,
"Peace in heaven and glory
in the highest!"
This was the moment fulfilling
God’s covenant the Genesis 3:15,
starting from Luke 2:13,14.
Thus in God’s kingdom in heaven
was glory by God’s Son Jesus
obeying God to death and resurrection;
and in heaven above the earth
the devil was being defeated.
Finally peace in heaven again has been
prevailing.
This is the 5th lent week.
Next is the passion week: The week is that
Jesus was agonized in the steps of obedience of
his abandonment from God in order to take
all the sin of menkind and preparing for
his leaving the earth. It is most important week.
His agony was so extreme that he said
his soul was overwhelmed with sorrow to
the point of death.
All these were prophesied through
the prophet Isaiah 700 years ago.
They were summed up in Isaiah chapter 53.
