Test yourselves

Examine yourselves to see whether

you are in the faith; test yourselves.

Do you not realize that Christ Jesus

is in you--unless, of course,

you fail the test?

And I trust that you will discover

that we have not failed the test.

​Occasionally I remember the prayer

request of Dr. Bill Bright who is

a founder of Campus Crusade for

Christ and was called a Saint by

Rev. Kim Jun Gon.

For a long time I wondered such a

great man of faith needs such

a prayer request.

That was "Please pray for me not

to deny Jesus even under the

influence of medicine in my last days."

He confesses that even he needs

the help of the Holy Spirit every

moment, and till reaching the heavenly

home safely because of the weakness

of men that they even do not have

power to depend on God.

This makes God's workers

infinitely humble.

Apostle Paul even confessed if

he could be disqualified after

such greatly used by God.

However finally the young Christians

in Corinthian church realized that

Apostle Paul did not fail to keep

his faith but was a successful

model of faith for them.

God and myself know me best.

By examining and testing ourselves

always we ought to keep the faith in

God following our great predecessors

of faith.

The 2 Corinthians is the Apostle Paul's second letter to the 

Corinthian Churches. Letter is the most intimate and personal.

Two thousand years ago, the Corinth city in Greece reminds

us today's New York city. The Corinth seaboard city was

then a center of trade, merchandize, wealth and luxury.

Also there was the Venus temple which led people not only

to moral deterioration but also sexual disaster.

The original location of Humanism, which against Creator God

and focus on human, the Corinth city in Greece lay in

spiritually formless, empty and darkness.

Here by God's mercy small lights began to shine. They were the

Lord Jesus' house Churches. They belong to the low social class.

Envious and jealous devil attempted to destroy God's

House Churches by questioning Paul's integrity and Apostleship.

And it caused to delay and complicate the promised loving

collection as well for the poverty stricken Jerusalem church.  

It was the process of the life giving Gospel to us, and it

continues so. How beautiful are the feet those who

bring good news !
