Pure virgin

I am jealous for you with

a godly jealousy.

I promised you to one husband,

to Christ, so that I might present you

as a pure virgin to him.

But I am afraid that just as Eve was

deceived by the serpent's cunning,

your minds may somehow be led astray

from your sincere and pure devotion

to Christ. Corinthians 11:2,3

Imagine a wife of good, wealthy and

influential man going around with

any men during the day and

in the night flattering her husband

for more mony to play with flirts !

What would her husband feel and do?

When inviting Jesus into one's heart

God becomes one's husband

who loves his bride only and most.

Likewise God wants his bride

to love him only as pure virgin does

for her benefit.

When her mind corrupted and astrayed

by the cunning serpents as Eve did

and suffering and death followed.

Apostle Paul who introduced

the Redeemer Jesus to the sinful men

afraid of it for them.

He urges those baby and young

Christians this danger to be sincere

and purely devoted to God.

The 2 Corinthians is the Apostle Paul's second letter to the 

Corinthian Churches. Letter is the most intimate and personal.

Two thousand years ago, the Corinth city in Greece reminds

us today's New York city. The Corinth seaboard city was

then a center of trade, merchandize, wealth and luxury.

Also there was the Venus temple which led people not only

to moral deterioration but also sexual disaster.

The original location of Humanism, which against Creator God

and focus on human, the Corinth city in Greece lay in

spiritually formless, empty and darkness.

Here by God's mercy small lights began to shine. They were the

Lord Jesus' house Churches. They belong to the low social class.

Envious and jealous devil attempted to destroy God's

House Churches by questioning Paul's integrity and Apostleship.

And it caused to delay and complicate the promised loving

collection as well for the poverty stricken Jerusalem church.  

It was the process of the life giving Gospel to us, and it

continues so. How beautiful are the feet those who

bring good news !
