Godly sorrow brings repentance

that leads to salvation and leaves

no regret, but worldly sorrow

brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

Last Sunday at the Government

Complex Building in Saejong City

there was a great Mizpha prayer

congregation for a deliverance of

Our Nation.

There have been hearsay that

this huge building complex is

a shape of dragon.

There it was confirmed

I was shocked.

Being so sad I studied

the Republic of Korea founding

president Sung Man Rhee, his

long imprisonment as well as

the process of independence and

of founding Korea.

God founded Korea as his nation

to accomplish his purpose.

For this his plan and method to

raise such a leader were perfect.

The 6th generational only son

in line of the 15th generation of

Yangung Prince royal family,

24 years old young man was filled

with fear and sorrow while he was

pilloried with 10kg around his neck

and shackles for hands and feet;

the prison physical environment was

undiscribably poor and

any time he could be executed.

Many executed before him.

He lived such a life for the first

7 months in the prison cell.

Tears ran down on his cheeks.

Such a sorrow reminded him of

a missionary's teaching in his

Baejae missionary school:

"If you pray God listens you."

So he prayed:

“God save me, God save our country.”

God heard him right there; and

God gave him light and peace in his

heart. He started reading the Bible

to the prisoners in his cell.

Hansung prison cell had changed to

a prayer room, then the Bible study room,

chaple, library and then a school.

About the 40 upper class elite political

prisoners and others received

Jesus in that prison.

Such a life he lived in that prison for

5 more years by the Holy Spirit.

This is unprecedented story in

protestant mission history.

He the president with those elites

Christian patriot independent fighters

in the prison founded the free

democratic country indeed by God.

This founding president Rhee taught

the system could not develop

free democratic nation; men's heart

must be changed. He was convinced;

that is only by Jesus, Christianity.

Such a foundation of county has

only Israel, USA and Korea

to my knowledge.

The sorrow the Korean Christians

now have can be received in God

and return to him God will save us.

“God save us, God save our country.”

The 2 Corinthians is the Apostle Paul's second letter to the 

Corinthian Churches. Letter is the most intimate and personal.

Two thousand years ago, the Corinth city in Greece reminds

us today's New York city. The Corinth seaboard city was

then a center of trade, merchandize, wealth and luxury.

Also there was the Venus temple which led people not only

to moral deterioration but also sexual disaster.

The original location of Humanism, which against Creator God

and focus on human, the Corinth city in Greece lay in

spiritually formless, empty and darkness.

Here by God's mercy small lights began to shine. They were the

Lord Jesus' house Churches. They belong to the low social class.

Envious and jealous devil attempted to destroy God's

House Churches by questioning Paul's integrity and Apostleship.

And it caused to delay and complicate the promised loving

collection as well for the poverty stricken Jerusalem church.  

It was the process of the life giving Gospel to us, and it

continues so. How beautiful are the feet those who

bring good news !
