Glory
And we, who with unveiled faces
all reflect the Lord's glory,
are being transformed into
his likeness with ever-increasing glory,
which comes from the Lord,
who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18
In your life when was it most glorious?
When I reflect my life,
no such a glorious time.
One tells "Wasn't that time you received
doctorate degree from the Ivy league
University and congratulations?"
I wondered then
"Was I have wrestled for so long
to have this?"
My professor tried to comfort me
saying "I had the same feelings."
This is why I had a hard time to
imagine God's glory.
God's glory reflects to
his children who believe in
Jesus and they reflect it in turn.
This God's glory increases for
his children as they live daily
with God, the substance of glory
in heaven to that of Jesus.
On earth they reflect this glory
when they are with Jesus' Spirit,
the Holy Spirit regardless situation.
This glory is not to have something
or accomplish but they live with
the Trinity of the substance of glory.
The 2 Corinthians is the Apostle Paul's second letter to the
Corinthian Churches. Letter is the most intimate and personal.
Two thousand years ago, the Corinth city in Greece reminds
us today's New York city. The Corinth seaboard city was
then a center of trade, merchandize, wealth and luxury.
Also there was the Venus temple which led people not only
to moral deterioration but also sexual disaster.
The original location of Humanism, which against Creator God
and focus on human, the Corinth city in Greece lay in
spiritually formless, empty and darkness.
Here by God's mercy small lights began to shine. They were the
Lord Jesus' house Churches. They belong to the low social class.
Envious and jealous devil attempted to destroy God's
House Churches by questioning Paul's integrity and Apostleship.
And it caused to delay and complicate the promised loving
collection as well for the poverty stricken Jerusalem church.
It was the process of the life giving Gospel to us, and it
continues so. How beautiful are the feet those who
bring good news !
