                 One causing grief

If anyone has caused grief,

he has not so much grieved me

as he has grieved all of you,

to some extent--not to put it

too severely.

The punishment inflicted on him

by the majority is sufficient

for him. 2Corinthians 2:5,6

What a love !

A few spoiled oranges in a box

is called a spoiled orange box.

In Corinthian Church it seems

only one spoiled person caused

much grief and suffering to

many saints and Paul.

This happens in our families,

churches and work places.

The spiritual leader of Corinthian

Church, Paul accepts the situation.

He comforts the church, writing

your grief may be more then mine.

In fact it could have been

the opposite.

Because the grief of the spiritually

grown ups is greater when

the loved ones commit sins.

This is why Jesus' grief for

sinned mankind was so great that

he eventually died to blot out them.

Because sin brings grief and death.

How to resolve the consequense of

the sin in Corinthian church?

The final goal was to wipe off

the confusion and hurt of the saints

and the one caused them, and

grow again according to the

loving character of Jesus

as healthy and holy.

What to do with that man

caused the grief?

Paul's tearful letter continues,

majority of you punished him,

it is enough.

Apostle Paul's continuing teaching.

Th Bible is daily life teaching of

God's children.

The 2 Corinthians is the Apostle Paul's second letter to the

Corinthian Churches. Letter is the most intimate and personal.

Two thousand years ago, the Corinth city in Greece reminds

us today's New York city. The Corinth seaboard city was

then a center of trade, merchandize, wealth and luxury.

Also there was the Venus temple which led people not only

to moral deterioration but also sexual disaster.

The original location of Humanism, which against Creator God

and focus on human, the Corinth city in Greece lay in

spiritually formless, empty and darkness.

Here by God's mercy small lights began to shine. They were the

Lord Jesus' house Churches. They belong to the low social class.

Envious and jealous devil attempted to destroy God's

House Churches by questioning Paul's integrity and Apostleship.

And it caused to delay and complicate the promised loving

collection as well for the poverty stricken Jerusalem church.  

It was the process of the life giving Gospel to us, and it

continues so. How beautiful are the feet those who

bring good news !
